orientlover1 on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 @venkimayyu film was released on 4-2-1972, she died on 31-3-1972
orientlover1 on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 @venkimayyu this song was filmed sometime in 1963 or earlier. at that time she was not sick. in 1964 she separated from her husband and the film shooting stopped. it was resumed in 1969 when she was seriously ill. in the movie immediately after this song, she visits her friend then returns home. the remaining film after that was shot in 1969 onward and you can see she looks sick, weak, pale and older than her age. it was a great tragedy that the film could not be completed in 1964
orientlover1 on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 @venkimayyu she was not sick during shooting of this song nor in the song "thare rahio" as both songs were filmed in 1963 or earlier. she fell sick after 1967 or so.they used a double ( padma khanna ) in the song "aaj hum apni duaoon ka asar ". All the scenes in which Raaj Kumar appears were shot in 1969 onward when she was seriously ill. in 1964 she broke off with her husband and the shooting of film stopped. it was resumed after 5 years and 12 days. what a tragedy...

barsakus on Sunday, April 12, 2009 Meena Kumari looks so sweet and innocent!
Other parts of this move which were shot much later show a stark difference in her looks, get-up and appearance.
Music is outstanding, and so is Lata. Thank you for adding, ShemarooEnt
sanjeevmoviebuff on Thursday, June 25, 2009 velvet voice lata bai, grt music and lyrics, hauting background music, train sound effect to bring memories of lover, great sets, superb costumes, indian monica belluchi with beauty and pain in expressions.wonerful ending of song, damn creative of then, lights going off , girls scattered and fountains go defunct, i think ten on ten to this song
nastykurtbadboy on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 i totally agreed with bollywood is so americanized. In other words so westernized. Almost losing its indian identity. What left maybe the language still in hindi. The filmmakers are so biznez oriented they go to the extent of betraying a true indian film. What a pity
koolritvik on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 it shows how dedicated she was to her work..even madhubala had same difficulty shooting mughal-e-azam..she was dying and it was difficult to shoot wearing real iron chains and stand for hours under suffocating makeup..specially where she became statue..
smashmaster326 on Friday, February 05, 2010 This song is soooo sweet...it is so good...what a sweet lady and a sweet romance...by the way check out the last song in the movie too...the actor gives passionate distraught looks seeing his beloved perform as a "common woman" in front of the male dominated audience
gOrjuzfOb on Saturday, December 11, 2010 I'm shocked 12 people disliked this song !!.. Anyways this song is so beautiful and I enjoyed watching the movie. If only there were more songs like this.
